ఇరాన్ ప్రభుత్వం సంచలన నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. దేశ సైనిక శక్తినీ, సాయుధ దళాల లాజిస్టిక్స్ రంగాన్ని సరికొత్త రీతిలో పునర్నిర్మించేందుకు నూతన రక్షణ మంత్రిని నియమించింది. ఇరాన్ పార్లమెంట్ మెహర్దాద్ అఖ్లాఘీని దేశ కొత్త రక్షణ, సాయుధ దళాల లాజిస్టిక్స్ మంత్రిగా అధికారికంగా ఆమోదించింది. ఫిబ్రవరి 28న అమెరికా-ఇజ్రాయెల్ జరిపిన దాడిలో మాజీ సర్వోన్నత నాయకుడు అయతోల్లా అలీ ఖమేనీ, సీనియర్ సైనిక కమాండర్లతో పాటు మరణించిన అజీజ్ నసీర్‌జాదే స్థానంలో మెహర్దాద్‌ను రక్షణ మంత్రిగా నియమించారు. అయితే అక్టోబర్ 18 ఆదివారం నాడు జరిగిన ఇరాన్ పార్లమెంట్ సమావేశంలో మెహర్దాద్ అఖ్లాఘీ నామినేషన్‌పై ఓటింగ్ నిర్వహించారు. ఓటింగ్‌లో పాల్గొన్న 277 మంది ప్రజాప్రతినిధులలో ఏకంగా 237 మంది ఆయనకు అనుకూలంగా ఓటు వేయగా.. కేవలం 15 మంది మాత్రమే వ్యతిరేకించారు.

Iran’s parliament just confirmed Mehrdad Akhlaghi as defense minister, 237 votes to 15, replacing Aziz Nasirzadeh, killed in February’s opening strikes of the war. Akhlaghi isn’t a political pick. He’s the engineer who built Iran’s solid-fuel missile program, 43 years in the defense industry, roughly 30 of them specifically in solid fuel, head of the Shahid Bagheri Industrial Group since 2014, sanctioned by the US back in 2008 for that exact work.
Pair that with something structural happening alongside it: Iran merged its Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters into the General Staff under Ali Abdallahai, consolidating command at the same moment it’s specializing production leadership. That combination, command consolidation plus technical specialization, is Iran organizing for a recurring war, not recovering from a single one.
The strategic problem this creates, laid out by analyst @citrinowicz , is one Israeli and US planning has struggled to answer all year: repeated strikes have demonstrably degraded Iran’s missile infrastructure without denying Iran the ability to rebuild it. Strikes can destroy a production line. They can’t erase three decades of solid-fuel engineering knowledge now sitting at the top of the ministry overseeing reconstruction.
Citrinowicz’s actual question is the sharp one: does another round of strikes change the strategic reality, or just delay the next round, while Israel pays a real, escalating cost each cycle and Iran treats that cost as the price of a doctrine it has already decided to keep.

అంతకుముందు అక్టోబర్ 5న ఇరాన్ అధ్యక్షుడు మసూద్ పెజెష్కియన్ రక్షణ మంత్రి పదవికి అఖ్లాఘీ పేరును ప్రతిపాదించారు. పార్లమెంట్ నిర్ణయం తర్వాత పెజెష్కియన్ మాట్లాడుతూ.. చట్టసభ్యులు చూపిన ఈ ఐక్యత దేశ రక్షణ సామర్థ్యాలను, సైనిక వ్యూహాలను మరింత బలోపేతం చేస్తుందని తెలిపారు. అయితే ఈ నియామకం వెనుక ఓ సైనిక పరిణామం దాగి ఉంది. గతంలో టెహ్రాన్‌పై జరిగిన అమెరికా-ఇజ్రాయెల్ వైమానిక దాడుల్లో అప్పటి ఇరాన్ రక్షణ మంత్రి అజీజ్ నసీర్‌జాదేతో పాటు పలువురు ఉన్నతాధికారులు ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు. ఈ ఆకస్మిక దాడి తర్వాత ఈ ఏడాది ఫిబ్రవరి 28 నుండి బ్రిగేడియర్ జనరల్ మజీద్ ఇబ్న్ అల్-రెజా తాత్కాలిక మంత్రిగా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తించారు. గత కొన్ని నెలలుగా తాత్కాలిక నాయకత్వంలో నడుస్తున్న ఈ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖకు ఇప్పుడు మెహర్దాద్ అఖ్లాఘీ మంత్రిగా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తించనున్నారు.
మెహర్దాద్ 1958లో ఉత్తర ఇరాన్‌లోని రాష్ట్ నగరంలో జన్మించారు. ఇరాన్ రక్షణ తయారీ రంగంలో ఇతను సీనియర్ అధికారి. ఆయన ఇరాన్ క్షిపణి, ఆయుధ తయారీ విభాగమైన షాహిద్ బకేరీ ఇండస్ట్రియల్ గ్రూప్ అధిపతిగా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వహించడమే కాకుండా దేశ రక్షణ సాంకేతికతలో కీలకపాత్ర పోషించే ఏరోస్పేస్ ఇండస్ట్రీస్ ఆర్గనైజేషన్ మేనేజింగ్ డైరెక్టర్‌గా కూడా సుదీర్ఘ అనుభవం ఉంది. ఇతర రక్షణ మంత్రులలా కాకుండా అఖ్లాఘీకి ఆయుధ తయారీ, క్షిపణి సాంకేతికతలో అపారమైన పారిశ్రామిక అనుభవం ఉందని చెప్పవచ్చు. రక్షణ శాఖలోని సాంకేతిక, శాస్త్రీయ విభాగాల్లో కిందిస్థాయి నుంచి క్రమంగా ఎదుగుతూ వచ్చారు. ఇరాన్ క్షిపణి వ్యవస్థను, సైనిక ఉత్పత్తి సామర్థ్యాన్ని పునర్నిర్మించడంలో మెహర్దాద్‌కు అనుభవం ఉంది.
